The best place to stay in Paros for hiking holidays is definitely Lefkes.
Not only is it one of the prettiest villages on the island, but due to its location in the center of the island, Lefkes is also the ideal departure point for many hikes and has some of the best accommodation in Paros, Greece.
The city center is one of the quaintest that you can find in Paros: narrow cobbled streets, traditional whitewashed houses, Venetian architecture, bougainvilleas growing all over the roofs, and some of the best hotels in Paros, Greece.

Paros has more than 35 km of hiking trails, and Lefkes is the departure point for the oldest trail on the island: the Byzantine Route.

Aliki town is one of the friendliest Paros towns as it has three beaches and has everything to spend your dream beach holidays.
Towards the end of the resort, the beaches of Piso Aliki and Agios Nikolaos are a great place to stay in Paros if you’re looking for more remote, laid-back beach options.
Located at the west end and on a strip of coarse sand and pebbles, these beaches are never too crowded. Pine trees provide shade.
When staying in Aliki, you should definitely taste the sun-dried octopus in one of the countless taverns.

The coastline is divided into two golden sandy beaches with gorgeous views of the neighboring island, Naxos.
Water is particularly clear and thus perfect for snorkeling.
However, you should know that there’s a campsite located behind the beaches, which makes it a bit crowded in the summer months but otherwise, you can really put it on the list of the best places to stay in Paros, Greece.

Naoussa is again a great place to stay in Paros if you plan a more active holiday.
Indeed, the town has a sailing club that offers lessons for adults and kids in laser, skiff boats and much more.
Naoussa is located close to the Park of Paros, and hosts a water ski school and SUP rental facilities, guaranteeing loads of action and fun during your holidays in Paros.

The Golden Beach is the hotspot for windsurfers.
Several clubs are offering rental equipment and lessons. It’s one of Paros’ longest beaches and is famous for its windy conditions.

Parikia – Where to stay on Paros for the Undecided
For those who want the perfect mix of hiking, beach holidays, and lively evenings out, I recommend staying in Parikia, the capital of Paros.
As many travelers just see the town as an arrival or departure harbor for ferries, Parikia preserved a certain authentic character and was lured with whitewashed houses and churches.
Many hotels in Parikia are still family-owned and are part of the best places to stay in Paros.
Livadia, the main beach of the capital, is only a 5 5-minute walk away from the city center. My favorite restaurant, Coralli, serves the best seafood and Greek specialties at affordable prices and excellent service.
Parikia was my base during my holidays in Paros, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice.
Scooter and car rental facilities are all within walking distance, public transport would bring me to almost any beach on the island and I finished all my days with long walks in the beautiful ancient town center.

If you’re looking for a more sophisticated but touristy place to stay in Paros, which is still close to most attractions, Naoussa is the best option and one of the best villages of Paros island, Greece.
It comes with a more “elegant”, but also more crowded touch than Parikia and has by far more dining and leisure options, making it one of the loveliest towns on Paros.
Naoussa town center is packed with art galleries and artisan jewelry shops.
Most discos and clubs on Paros are located in Naoussa. Thus, it’s perfect if you want to enjoy a long night out.
To sum up, the atmosphere in Naoussa can be easily compared to Mykonos.

So, before you choose a hotel in Paros, Greece, first decide if you want party holidays, quieter locations, amazing hiking trails, nature or remote beaches so that you can opt for the best place to stay in Paros.
You think it all comes down to Parikia or Naoussa? However, there are plenty of more options that I am going to elaborate on here!

Where to stay on Paros: Naoussa or Parikia?
I get many questions about where to stay in Paros: Parikia or Naoussa?
Well this really depends on what type of holiday experience you’re looking for.
Paros main town (Parikia) is gret for those who want to experience the local vibe and witness the authentic charm of a Greek town. It really kept it’s feet on the ground, while still presenting gorgeous narrow streets with whitewashed houses.
Naoussa has become increasingly popular over the last few years.
It’s ideal for those who want to enjoy a more luxurious type of holiday. There are plenty of cute boutique hotels and Paros luxury hotels to choose from.
Naoussa is more “touristy” (and expensive) than Parikia.
However, it’s easy to visit Naoussa from Parikia. There is public transport from Parikia to Naoussa. If you drive by car, it only takes 16min.

Why You Should Visit Paros Now?
I decided to spend my holidays on Paros for the following reasons:
1. Easy to reach by ferry from Athens and other islands
2. Affordable prices in comparison to Santorini or Mykonos
3. Large cultural and historical options, with the marble quarry and several archaeological findings.
Even if Paros is not as touristy as its neighboring Cycladic islands, it as all you might expect from your perfect Greek holiday: white villages, mountains, spectacular views on the Mediterranean, Greek hospitality, little bays, a natural park, and amazingly fresh food.
What is the Best Time to Visit Paros?
The best time to visit Paros is, simply put, all year round.
If you’re looking for beach holidays and parties at night, I recommend visiting during the summer months from May-September. Be aware that this is the high-season in Paros. The hotel prices are a bit higher and the beaches a bit more crowded than during other periods of the year.
Parikia or Naoussa?
When looking for the best place to stay in Paros, Greece, Parikia or Naoussa might be the 2 main options. Parikia is great if you want to enjoy the authentic, calm Greek side of the island. Naoussa has plenty of stylish bars, restaurants and shops. It’s thus much more coveted and crowded.
